Terms of Service
Plain terms for a free service. Please read them before using the tools.
The short version: These tools are free and provided as-is. They run on your own device, so you keep control of your files — and you are responsible for keeping your own backups and for checking that results meet your needs. Do not use the site for anything unlawful. We cannot accept liability for losses arising from use of a free service.
1. Agreement to these terms
By accessing or using pdfbison.com/ ("the site", "the service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. These terms apply to all visitors and users.
2. What the service is
PDFBison provides free, browser-based tools for working with PDF and image files — including compressing, converting, merging, splitting, rotating, resizing and similar operations. All processing takes place within your web browser on your own device. We do not receive, store or process your files. See our privacy policy for full detail.
3. Cost and availability
The service is provided free of charge, without accounts or subscriptions. We may add, change, limit or discontinue any tool or the entire service at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee that the site will be available without interruption, or that any particular tool will remain available.
4. Your responsibilities
By using the service you confirm that:
- You own the files you process, or have the necessary rights and permissions to process them.
- You will not use the service for any unlawful purpose, or to process content that is illegal, infringing, or that you are not authorised to handle.
- You will not attempt to disrupt, overload, damage or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure.
- You will not use automated systems to access the site in a manner that places unreasonable load on it, or attempt to circumvent, scrape or repackage the service.
- You will not remove, obscure or interfere with any notices, attributions or advertising on the site.
4.1 Keep your own backups
This deserves its own heading because it is the practical point that matters most. Because everything happens on your device, you alone hold your files — and we cannot recover anything for you. If a tool produces an unexpected result, if your browser closes mid-operation, or if a device fault occurs, we have no copy to restore. Always keep the original file until you have checked that the output is correct and complete.
5. No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
In particular, we do not warrant that:
- The service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.
- Results produced by any tool will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose — including satisfying the requirements of any third-party system, portal, employer, institution or authority.
- Any file will be processed without alteration, quality loss or failure. Compression in particular involves an unavoidable trade-off between file size and quality.
- Every file format variant will be supported. Some files — including password-protected, corrupted, or unusually structured documents — may not process correctly or at all.
It is your responsibility to check the output before relying on it, submitting it, or deleting the original.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDFBison and anyone associated with it shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits, revenue, business or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of — or inability to use — the service, whether based in contract, tort, negligence or any other legal theory, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the extent that liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to use it, which is zero.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you; in that case, such liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.
7. Third-party components and services
The tools rely on open-source software libraries which are delivered to your browser from third-party content delivery networks, and the site displays advertising supplied by third parties. These components are governed by their own licences and terms. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of third-party services, and if such a component becomes unavailable, a tool may temporarily stop functioning.
8. Intellectual property
The PDFBison name, logo, site design, page content and original code are the property of PDFBison and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may use the tools freely for their intended purpose, personal or commercial. You may not copy, republish or redistribute the site’s content, branding or code as your own, or present the service as your own product.
Your files remain entirely yours. We claim no rights of any kind over anything you process — which follows naturally from never receiving it.
9. Advertising
The site is supported by advertising. Advertisements are supplied by third-party networks and we do not endorse, verify or take responsibility for advertised products, services or claims. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are solely between you and them.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PDFBison from any claims, damages, losses or expenses arising from your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms, including any processing of content you did not have the right to process.
11. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The revision date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India shall have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights available to you in your country of residence.
13. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect. These terms, together with our privacy policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PDFBison regarding the service.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through our contact page.
These terms are provided for general information and do not constitute legal advice. If you need terms tailored to particular jurisdictions or business circumstances, please consult a qualified legal professional.
